Reshadat oil field output hits 15,000 b/d

TEHRAN Jan 27 (Shana): Production from Reshadat oil field has increased to 15,000 b/d as its early production plan comes on-stream, the managing-director of Iranian Offshore Oil Company announced.
Saeed Hafezi said Reshadat output is projected to reach 18,000 b/d soon as electrical energy is being produced continuously in the offshore platforms of the field.

The Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has earlier predicted the Reshadat production to exceed 20,000 b/d.

So far, between 7,000 and 8,000/d of oil has been produced from aging wells in this field.

New wells are being drilled to raise the field production.

Hafezi added that commodities are to be supplied for drilling new wells so that the production will see a rise.

Reshadat oil field is predicted to produce, once fully operational, up to 75,000 b/d of oil.

It is the biggest production enhancement project in the Persian Gulf.

The field is located 108 kilometers southwest of Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf.

It started production in 1968.
