Swedish, Polish FMs to visit Iran: Diplomat

The Iranian deputy foreign minister for European and American affairs says Swedish and Polish foreign ministers will visit Iran to discuss the development of ties with the Islamic Republic.
Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi said on Saturday that Swedish Foreign Minister Carl Bildt will arrive in the Iranian capital Tehran on February 3 while Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski is due to visit Iran from February 28 to March 2.

He said the successful policy of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to boost interaction with the world has drawn the attention of European countries to Iran.

Takht-e-Ravanchi added that Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Jaua will head to Tehran on March 2 while the president of the Latin American country, Nicols Maduro, will visit Iran in the next Persian calendar year which starts on March 21, 2014.

The Iranian deputy foreign minister said during Maduros visit to Tehran, the Iran-Venezuela Joint Economic Commission will convene a meeting to explore ways to boost bilateral trade and economic ties.

Pointing to his recent visit to Cuba, Venezuela and Bolivia, Takht-e-Ravanchi said he had discussed political and economic cooperation with officials of the three Latin American countries.

The promotion of all-out cooperation with Latin American countries has been among the top priorities of the Islamic Republic's foreign policy over the past few years.

The Iranian president has pledged to improve Irans relations with world countries through understanding, confidence-building and mutual respect.
