TEHRAN Jan 22 (Shana): Two senior members of the Majlis Energy Committee have said that no decision has been made for raising gasoline prices in the next Iranian year starting in March. Hossein Dehdashti, Ali Marvi and Mousa Ahmadi have said that the Majlis Energy Committee has not yet made any decision about higher fuel prices.
Their remarks are in reaction to the head of Fuel Management Committee who said earlier this week that the government is examining three scenarios for gasoline prices next calendar year.
Mojtaba Shafiei said the highest price considered the gasoline is 18,000 rials per liter.
He said that all three scenarios consider gasoline supply at unsubsidized prices.
Shafiei said one scenario envisages the continuation of the current gasoline prices while a second one considers price hikes to 11,000 rials per liter.
Its not clear which scenario will be agreed upon. We have to wait for the end of studies and decision-making, he said.
