Tehran, Jan 20, IRNA - Director of the Center for Strategic Studies and International Relations said here on Monday that inviting Iran to attend the Geneva II conference on Syria is one of the achievements of Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif?s recent visits to regional countries and Russia.
Talking to IRNA, Amir Mousaviunderlined that Zarif managed to declare Iran?s accurate and authentic stance on settlement of the Syrian crisis.
Zarif declared Iran?s stance regarding resolving the crisis through a diplomatic solution and establishment of ceasefire by the belligerent sides in Syria, he added.
On inviting Iran to attend the Geneva II conference on Syria by the United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, he said Iran as an important regional country plays a pivotal role in establishing peace and tranquility in Syria.
The Geneva II conference will kick off in the Swiss city of Montreux on January 22 and then move to the UN Headquarters in Geneva on January 24 after a one-day break.
