Moscow, Jan 16, IRNA � Visiting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif conferred on Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin on issues of mutual interests as well as regional and international developments.�

In the meeting, Zarif extended an official invitation to Russian president on behalf of President Hassan Rouhani to pay an official visit to Tehran which was welcomed by President Putin.


?I hope to visit Tehran at the earliest,? said the Russian president.

?We are enthusiastically welcome expansion of political and economic cooperation with Iran,? said President Putin in the meeting.

Zarif arrived in Moscow on Wednesday and conferred with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on mutual relations and regional developments including Syria crisis and Iran?s nuclear issue.
