China hails start of Iran nuclear deal implementation

Chinas Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Hua Chunying has lauded the agreement between Iran and the Sextet of powers on the manner of starting the implementation of their nuclear deal.
Speaking at her Monday press conference, Hua praised the diplomatic efforts by Iran and the six powers -- five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany -- and expressed hope that all sides will joint efforts to ensure complete implementation of the deal.

She called on all sides to continue consultations on an equal footing to reach a comprehensive agreement as soon as possible.

Hua reaffirmed Chinas support for dialogue as a solution to safeguard the international non-proliferation regime as well as peace and stability in the Middle East.

She also expressed Chinas willingness to maintain close communication and coordination with all sides to promote peace and negotiation.

On Sunday, Iran and the six powers finalized an agreement on ways to take the first step to implement the Geneva nuclear agreement on January 20.

Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi told reporters on Sunday.

Araqchi said once Iran begins to implement the Geneva deal, the six will begin to ease sanctions on Tehran.

He added that the other side will release USD 4.2 billion in Iranian frozen assets in eight stages and Iran, in return, will oxidize its 20-percent-enriched uranium within a year.

The development comes two days after Iran and the Sextet of world powers concluded two days of talks in Geneva about how to implement the landmark deal sealed in November 2013.
