The 6th International Digital Media Exhibition was inaugurated on October 4 in the capital city of Tehran while Iranian cyberspace users have strongly criticized it.

By the slogan of "digital literacy and cultural safety", the exhibition is organized by the Information Technology and Digital Media Development Center of Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

The 6th International Digital Media Exhibition hosts 1,109 websites and online media, and is held in six main sections and four subsections from October 4 to 13.

Computer games, media software, internet websites and blogs, cell phone software, digital arts, and research, technology and innovation are some of the sections of the exhibition.

But, despite the extensive television advertising, and the Fair officials' remarks that digital media exhibition can be a basis for the development of the digital media and internet in the country, Iranian cyberspace users have strongly criticized the fair.

They say that given the strong filtering that is applied in Iran, we have no access to many sites and services, so there is no place to hold such an exhibition.

Iran held the first round of the fair in 2007 with 350 pavilions and 200,000 visitors.
