Tehran, Dec 11, IRNA � Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said Iran and Russia enjoy high capacities to boost cooperation.
Talking to IRNA on Wednesday, she said the visit to Tehran of the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is taking place within the framework of regular exchange of visits and views between the two countries.

She said various aspects of cooperation between the two countries in regional and international areas will be discussed during the visit.

Afkham noted that Iran-Russia cooperation covers vast areas, adding that talks between the Russian foreign minister and the Iranian officials will focus on no particular issue.

Lavrov arrived in Tehran late Tuesday on an official visit to discuss bilateral ties with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and other senior Iranian officials. He is also to meet with President Hassan Rouhani.
