Oscar Academy asks for Derakhshandehs film script

Oscar Academy has requested a copy of screen script of the Iranian director Pouran Derakhshandehs latest dramaHush! Girls Dont Scream.
The center announced its request during a letter signed by Gregory Walsh, Script Librarian, Mehr News Agency reported.

According to the letter, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has decided to include the script ofHush! Girls Dont Screamas a part of the Oscar Library.

The script will be archived at the library which is available for research to only for students, filmmakers, actors and writers.

The script will not be allowed to be circulated outside the library premises or photo-copied," noted in the letter.

The movie received a great attention from the movie goers during its public screening in Laemmle Movie Theater in Los Angeles.

The leading Iranian female director Derakhshandehs social drama was also hailed at the 44th Goa international Film Festival in India.

Derakhshandehs film tells the story of abused children and ignorant families who do not make enough time in their day to listen and solve their children's issue.

Hush! Girls Dont Screamwas warmly welcomed during its recent public screenings in Canada.

Sponsored by Irans Farabi Cinematic Foundation, the movie won Best Film Award at the 2012 Fajr International Film Festival.

Hush! Girls Dont Screamhas recently garnered the Best Feature length Award of the fourth edition of London Iranian film festival.

Born in 1951, Derakhshandeh has directed 12 feature-length films and dozens of documentaries over the past four decades.

My films are about those who have been forgotten. Family and children have always been the central themes of my films, she noted.
