Swiss new ambassador's mission in Iran

TEHRAN, Dec. 1 (MNA) Swiss ambassador to Tehran has said his new mission is to improve bilateral ties.
Mehr News reported that Giulio Haas had a meeting today with Abbasali Mansouri Arani the head of Iran-Switzerland inter-parliamentary friendship. In the meeting, Mansouri Arani believed inter-parliamentary groups as influential in enhancing bilateral ties. Iran and Switzerland relations have experienced many highs and lows; however, we have always seen Switzerland a good partners, added Mansouri Arani.

Today the conditions have been different for both countries, and so joint attempts would help improve bilateral relations. Parliaments of both countries would grasp the opportunity as well, he said.

Swiss ambassador pointed to the importance of Iran and Switzerland relations. My mission in Iran has been improving bilateral ties, and I ensure you that boosting inter-parliamentary relations will be my main duties in office, since we seek common objectives, and attaining such objectives needs cooperation, Hass said.

He also pointed to Iran sanctions. Switzerland had little role to ever play in European context given its role as a member of the EU, and it has not participated in sanctions on Irans banking system and did not ratified ban on imports of Iranian goods, he said.

With discussions carried out [in Genve], soon the positive impacts would be evident, and Iran would find its true place in international system, he added.
