An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Khormoj in Bushehr province, Southern Iran, on Sunday, Fars News Agency reported.
The Seismological center of Bushehr province affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 09:40 hour local time (0610 GMT).
According to Russia Today, powerful earthquake has struck near the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
RT added that there were no initial reports of any casualties or damage to the nuclear power plant caused by the quake.
