TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held separate meetings with his Pakistani, Azerbaijani, Kyrgyz and Afghan counterparts on the sidelines of the 21st ECO ministerial meeting in Tehran.
Pakistan is ready to work for the further establishment of security across Iran-Pakistan borders and exchange of security delegations with Iran, Pakistani Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz said in a meeting with Zarif.
He also stressed boosting economic ties between the two countries, and said his country is ready to dispatch an oil delegation to Iran for talks on Iranian gas pipeline to the energy-hungry Pakistan.
Zarif, for his part, called for curing extremism across the region and continuing talks on border issues.
Also in a meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Zarif stressed consolidating ties between the two sides and called for removing obstacles on growing mutual cooperation.
He added the two countries can work on legal, border, transportation, energy and water.
Mammadyarov, for his part, said his country is willing to expand ties between the two countries.
Also in another meeting with Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldaev, Zarif stressed the further expansion of mutual cooperation between the two countries in all areas.
Abdyldaev, said his country is interested in working with Iran on agriculture, fishing, technology and building dam and hydropower plants.
Elsewhere in a meeting with Afghan Foreign Minister Zalmai Rassoul, Zarif said pullout of foreign forces from Afghanistan paves the way for establishing calm and annihilating extremism in Afghanistan.
He added Iran is ready to work with Afghanistan on fighting extremism, terror, war, drug trafficking and border issues.
Rassoul, for his part, expressed his country's readiness to boost bilateral ties with Iran, and said "We believe that progress and success of Iran is our progress and success."
