Tehran, Nov 26, IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri emphasized that effective campaign against terrorism and extremism is in need of close regional interactions and evermore cooperation.
Zarif referred to the continuation of the crisis in Syria and expressed hope that sound logic and rationalism would rule among the influential governments in the region, leading to resolving the regional problems, including in Syria, and restoration of peace and stability in that country, to decrease the pains and sorrows of the Syrian people.
The foreign minister referred to his recent meeting with the UN-Arab League special envoy on Syria, Akhzar Brahimi in Geneva, emphasizing, The Islamic Republic of Iran is still ready for using its full political capacities and might, side by side with the other countries in the region, to contribute to problem resolving in Syria, particularly in human dimension.
Zarif also referred to the efforts of the Zionist circles aimed at imposing pressure and sabotaging in the course of the recent negotiations between Iran and the six world powers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, which continued till the end of the third round of Geneva talks.
The hue and cry of the Zionist officials are aimed at deviating the minds from the main issue, which is the Palestine issue and that regimes criminal acts committed against the Palestinian nation, he said.
The Iranian top diplomat said that one of the outcomes of the Geneva agreement was proving the incompetence of the sanctions and pressure approach of the western countries, saying, This achievement showed that it is possible to solve the nuclear crisis resorting to negotiations and respecting the Iranian nations rights.
He added, We, too, are ready for easing the entire rational worries regarding our peaceful nuclear program, while resolutely preserving our nations legitimate nuclear rights and continuing our nuclear activities.
Zarif said that Geneva agreement paved the path for good cooperation between Iran and all its friends in the region, emphasizing that the Iranian foreign policys definite and non-alienable foreign policy priority is strengthening Irans relations with the Islamic and Arab countries, particularly in the reign.
He said that the interests and expediencies of the Islamic world, and preserving peace and stability in the region are among the highest interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Zarif meanwhile expressed hope that as a result of the Iranian approach in the future we will be witnesses to evermore expansion of relations, cooperation, and consultations in the region.
The foreign minister meanwhile expressed sympathy with the Lebanese nation for the martyrdom of a number of their fellow citizens, sympathizing with the Lebanese people and government.
He also appreciated the wise stands and role played by the Lebanese parliament speaker towards the internal developments, such as the need for unity among all political tendencies.
Nabih Berry who is in Iran on an invitation extended by Ali Larijani, in the meeting condemned the terrorist attack that led to the martyrdom of the Iranian embassys cultural attach and condoled with the Iranian nation.
He said he was happy to visit Iran, and for the visits he has had with the Iranian president and parliament speaker, congratulating reaching of an agreement with the 5+1G as a success for Iran.
He respectively congratulated the Iranian nation, Zarif, and the members of negotiation team.
The Lebanese parliament speaker meanwhile hoped that the major development will be used in line with the interests of the country and the Iranian nation, as well and evermore progress and advancement of Iran.
Berri said that the regional developments were quite sensitive and the enemies efforts were aimed at spilling ever of the Syrian crisis into Lebanon, particularly the human dimensions of it.
