Geneva, Nov 7, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif conferred on Thursday with UN-Arab League special envoy on Syria Lakhdar Brahimi on ways to help resolve the humanitarian catastrophe in Syria.
He thanked the sincere efforts made by Lakhdar Brahimi on helping resolve the Syrian crisis and also lauded the international community for adopting a realistic approach toward Syria and that the bloodshed must stop there by political means.

The meeting was held in Geneva prior to the nuclear talks between Tehran and the sextet.

Highlighting Irans principled stand toward the Syrian crisis, Zarif underlined that the issue will be resolved through Syrian-Syrian political dialogue.

He called for the international community to airlift humanitarian aid and essential supplies to the Syrian people.

UN-Arab League special envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi, for his part, highlighted the efforts made in recent weeks to end the humanitarian disaster in Syria by political means.

The meeting was held at the UN headquarters in Geneva.

Lakhdar Brahimi visited Iran on October 29 to prepare the ground for Geneva 2 Conference on Syria.

Spokeswoman for Foreign Ministry Marziyeh Afkham has already stressed that Iran will accept no precondition for attending the upcoming international conference on Syria.

Tehran is against support for terrorist groups and any foreign interference in the Syrian internal affairs.
