Iran FM, Brahimi meet ahead of nuclear talks in Geneva

Geneva, Nov 7, IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif and UN-Arab League special envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi held talks here Thursday prior to start of nuclear talks between Tehran and the group of sextet.
Brahimi visited Tehran On October 29 to review making preparations for the international conference on Syria to be held in Geneva, Switzerland.

The conference which is called Geneva II is aimed at finding a solution to the Syrian crisis.

Iran and Saudi Arabia were both absent in the Geneva 1 conference.

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the Syrian crisis should be settled only through diplomacy and Syrian-Syrian dialogue.

Spokeswoman for Foreign Ministry Marziyeh Afkham has already stressed that Iran will accept no precondition for attending the upcoming international conference on Syria.

Tehran is against support for terrorist groups and any foreign interference in the Syrian internal affairs.
