Islamabad, Oct 31, IRNA At least four people have been killed in a bomb attack in the Pakistani city of Quetta police said.
The blast in a busy commercial area also injured nearly 20 more people, some of them critically.
Police and rescue services have arrived on site and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital.
Four dead bodies were brought to hospital and may death toll will increase because the explosion was powerful, a senior police officer said.
The blast was huge and I have seen dozens of people lying in pool of blood on double road, an eyewitness said.
The bomb disposal squad said the explosives, which weighed around 6-7 kilograms, were planted on a motorcycle.
Police said the second explosion happened due to a CNG cylinder exploding inside a car.
They further said that given its location, it was unlikely that the bomb was planted to target any specific individual or people and was rather meant to create destruction in general.
The explosions destroyed nearby buildings, cars and shattered windows. Widespread panic was witnessed at the site of the blast.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have strongly condemned the blasts. They directed authorities to extend the best possible medical treatment to the injured.
