Beijing, Oct 30, IRNA Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping at Chinas National Peoples Congress today.
The important meeting will take place on the 2nd day of the Iranian parliament speakers visit, who arrive at the top of an Iranian delegation comprised of executive officials and parliamentarians in Beijing on an officials visit on Tuesday.
The meetings significance is due to coming to power of the new governments both in Iran and in China.
Chinese State Councilor Yang Jiechi in his Tuesday meeting with Larijani considered his visit as an opportunity for deepening the two countries relations.
He referred to the important negotiations between President Hassan Rohani and President Xi Jinping earlier in September, 2013, on the sidelines of Shanghai Summit in Bishkek, emphasizing that China attaches great significance to its relations with Iran.
The Iranian parliament speaker who is on an official visit of China on an invitation by the Speaker of the National Peoples Congress Zhang Dejiang on Tuesday evening met and conferred with him on strengthening parliamentary ties.
The Chinese Congress speaker also hosted a dinner ceremony in the honor of his Iranian counterpart at the Congress Palace in central Beijing on Tuesday night.
On the second day of his visit, the Iranian parliament speaker will also visit the Iranian Embassy in Beijing and will have a meeting with the heads of the Chinese companies that are cooperating with Iran. The Iranian economy officials accompanying Larijani will attend the meeting.
The volume of Iran-China trade is currently over 40 billion US dollars.
On Thursday Larijani will visit Shanghai in the west side of China.
Iran is currently Chinas third largest supplier of crude oil, providing Beijing with roughly 12 percent of its total annual consumption.
