MP: Deception runs in American politicians blood
TEHRAN (Tasnim) An Iranian legislator said the recent anti-Iran remarks made by a top US diplomat stems from Washingtons inability to confront the Iranian nation, adding that deception and duplicity are the defining traits of American foreign diplomacy.

Americans make such illogical and unsound remarks because they are unable to confront the resistance of the Islamic Irans nation, Hassan Kamran, member of the parliaments National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, told Tasnim News Agency on Friday.

His comments come after the US State Departments third ranking official and the nuclear negotiator in Iran-G5+1 nuclear talks, Wendy Sherman, on Thursday accused Iranians of deception.

We know that deception is part of the DNA in Iran," Sherman told a Senate committee.

Jalali then called on the foreign ministry officials to react strongly to Shermans remarks, and said, We expect the foreign ministry to adopt measures in regard to these remarks and give them (US officials) a decisive response.

On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham, reacted to these comments, saying, If Ms. Shermans political remarks are as accurate as the (insulting) points she recently made, then her other comments should be called into question.

The US State Departments third ranking official, also said in an address to the US Senates Foreign Relations Committee that the anti-Iranian sanctions should not disappear anytime soon, disregarding the Iranian nuclear teams insistence on lifting the illegally imposed sanctions in return for proposals made by Tehran to ensure the West on the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.

Her comments come days after Tehran and the Group 5+1 held a two-day meeting in the Swiss city of Geneva on October 15-16. During the two-day talks, Iran presented a three-step plan with the aim of bringing the standoff over the Islamic Republics peaceful nuclear program to an end.

After the talks the White House said Iran had shown a greater level of "seriousness and substance" than ever before at the two days of talks in Geneva.

The two sides are to hold a new round of talks in Geneva on November 7-8, which are to be preceded by sessions attended by scientific and sanctions experts to address differences and to develop practical steps.
