Iran calls for change in world order

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Seyed Abbas Araqchi criticized the current world order, and called for a new world order in which the basic rights of all humans are heeded.

Speaking at a ceremony held to mark the United Nations Day in Tehran on Tuesday, Araqchi emphasized that the UN should move to make political reforms and serve the nations common interests.

The UN reforms must reflect changes in the international system, particularly the increasing role of the developing countries, nations right to determine their own fate and their right to use scientific progress and modern technologies, Araqchi stated, adding that Iran has always presented constructive proposals for the UN reforms.

Early in June, former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad underlined that terrorism, unilateralism and dominance are common problems of all nations and all people should participate to uproot these problems.

He underlined the necessity of unity and coordination among the nations and states, adding everybody should try for justice, freedom, prosperity and salvation of all human beings.

He added that hegemonic powers with different pretexts, including terrorism, drugs and environment pollution impose pressures on other states.

Ahmadinejad said that world ruling system is unfair and the United Nations, Security Council and world governing monetary structure should be changed and be corrected upon justice and interests of the nations.

He added that justice is turning to a sacred issue and a public demand and dissatisfaction with the world governing system is spreading.

Late in April, Ahmadinejad said that the world independent countries and nations are in the same front, adding that such countries should do their best for freedom, justice, peace and revival of humanity in view of their common stances.
