File photo shows Israel's Dimona nuclear reactor in the Negev Desert.[/caption]TEHRAN (FNA)- Senior member of the European Parliament (EP) Hannes Swobodaunderlined that any effort to free the Middle-East region from the Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMDs) must include Israel's atomic arsenal.
Swoboda, who heads a three-member delegation from the EP to Tehran told reporters on Monday that the EP has plans to move towards a Middle-East free of nuclear weapons and noted that such efforts would also include the Israels nuclear warheads.
The EP delegation, comprised of three Socialist European lawmakers, arrived in Tehran on Saturday for a four-day visit.
Israel is believed to be the sole possessor of nuclear arms in the Middle-East with over 200 ready-to-launch warheads in its stockpile.
