FM confers with Swiss counterpart

Geneva, Oct 16, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed Irans nuclear issue as well as regional and international developments with his Swiss counterpart, Didier Burkhalter, on Wednesday.
Zarif arrived in Geneva on Monday at the head of a high-ranking political, technical and legal delegation to take part in the fresh round of talks with the G5+1.

Zarif and the EU Foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton attended the first round of negotiations while they left the second round to be presided by their deputies.

Zarifs met with his Swiss counterpart while the Iranian negotiating team was engaged in talks with the G5+1 representatives.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American affairs, Majid Takht-Rawanchi, Foreign Ministrys Director General for political and international affairs, Hamid Baidinejad and Foreign Minister Legal Advisor, Davoud Mohammad-Nia are accompanying Zarif during his Geneva visit.

This is Zarifs first trip to Geneva since he was appointed as foreign minister by President Hassan Rouhani.
Swiss Confederation has earlier hosted the G5+1-Iran talks in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
