FM confers with Swiss counterpart

Geneva, Oct 16, IRNA � Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed Iran�s nuclear issue as well as regional and international developments with his Swiss counterpart, Didier Burkhalter, on Wednesday.
Zarif arrived in Geneva on Monday at the head of a high-ranking political, technical and legal delegation to take part in the fresh round of talks with the G5+1.

Zarif and the EU Foreign Policy chief Catherine Ashton attended the first round of negotiations while they left the second round to be presided by their deputies.

Zarif�s met with his Swiss counterpart while the Iranian negotiating team was engaged in talks with the G5+1 representatives.

Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Seyyed Abbas Araqchi, Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American affairs, Majid Takht-Rawanchi, Foreign Ministry�s Director General for political and international affairs, Hamid Ba�idinejad and Foreign Minister� Legal Advisor, Davoud Mohammad-Nia are accompanying Zarif during his Geneva visit.

This is Zarif�s first trip to Geneva since he was appointed as foreign minister by President Hassan Rouhani.
Swiss Confederation has earlier hosted the G5+1-Iran talks in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
