Resumption of ties with UK proves Iran successful diplomacy, MP

Tehran, Oct 10, IRNA A lawmaker said Thursday that resumption of Tehran- London ties is an indication to successful diplomacy of the Iranian government.
Hossein Naqavi Hosseini, Rapporteur of Majlis National Security and Foreign policy Commission, made the remarks in an interview with IRNA.

The MP reiterated that Majlis supports such a diplomacy.

Head of Iran-Britain Friendship Group Abbas Ali Mansouri had said Wednesday that efforts made by foreign ministers of the two countries to improve Iran-UK ties to the level of non-resident charge daffaires were positive.

Referring to diplomatic movement in new Iranian government that is also supported by the Supreme Leader, the lawmaker hoped the nation would witness further victories in international arenas.

About two years ago, members of Majlis approved a bill with 162 votes in favor to downgrade relations with London.

Naqavi Hosseini underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to establish peaceful relations with all world nations, except the Zionist regime.

He said Majlis welcomes diplomatic ties with other countries including the UK, but it opposes any interference in the countrys internal affairs.
