Israel incapable of attacking Iran: MP

A senior Iranian lawmaker says Tel Avivs threat to attack Iran is a political bluff, stressing that the Israeli regime does not have the capability to strike Iran.
Addressing the United Nations General Assembly session on Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened unilateral military action against Iran to dismantle the Islamic Republics civilian nuclear facilities.

He repeated his baseless accusation that Tehran is seeking to develop nuclear weapons, saying, If Israel is forced to stand alone, Israel will stand alone.
Such remarks are nothing more than a political bluff, and the [Israeli] regime well knows that it doesnt have the guts and capability to do it (attack Iran), said Hossein Sobhani-Nia, who sits on the Presiding Board of Irans Majlis.
Netanyahus bluffing at the United Nations about Irans peaceful nuclear activities was aimed at changing the positive atmosphere created in the media by the Iranian delegation, Sobhani-Nia said, referring to the recent diplomatic drive by Iran at the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly.

The Iranian legislator noted that the Israeli prime minister rushed to the UN to change the positive media climate.

On Friday, Irans Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan dismissed Israels warmongering threats against the Islamic Republic, saying the Israeli regime is too weak to dare make such a brazen move.

Netanyahus recent aggressive reaction and warmongering remarks show the Islamic Republic of Irans political success and influence in the international arena, Dehqan said.

The US, Israel, and some of their allies have repeatedly accused Iran of pursuing non-civilian objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Tehran has categorically rejected the allegation, arguing that as a signatory to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it is entitled to develop nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
