Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have held a rally to call for resistance against the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem al-Quds,Press TVreports.
Palestinians of factions including Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Popular and Democratic fronts for Liberation of Palestine, PFLP and DFLP, attended the rally.
Al-Quds is being discrete by gangs of Israeli settlers under the watchful eye of the international community. We, the women of Palestine, will not sit idle while Israel steals our land. We call on all Palestinians to resist the Israeli occupation with all possible means, senior PFLP official Mariam Abu-Daqqa said.
Protesters held placards condemning the Israeli occupation. They also called on the Arab world to end its silence towards Israeli crimes in Jerusalem al-Quds.
Over the past weeks, Palestinians have held a number of rallies against the occupation.
More than half a million Israelis live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israels occupation of the Palestinian territories of the West Bank and East al-Quds.
The United Nations and most countries regard the Israeli settlements as illegal because the territories were captured by Israel in the 1967 war and are hence subject to the Geneva Conventions, which forbids construction on occupied lands.
On August 13, US Secretary of State John Kerry said that all Israeli settlements on the Palestinian territories are illegal.
