Tehran, Sept 15, IRNA � Head of Iran Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran is the most powerful country in the region and thus plays an influential role in making the US withdraw from its war-mongering policies regarding Syria.
Talking in a ceremony on Saturday, he reiterated that the future of Syria will be determined only by its nation.

He stressed that the Syrian people will certainly not let their evil-minded enemies decide for them.

The former foreign minister went on to comment on the US reasoning for backing its decision to attack Syria and said Washington had no choice other than diplomacy because it seems as the best logical solution to the crisis in the country.

Had Americans decided to attack Syria in the way they invaded Iraq, Salehi said, they would have encountered many unexpected results given the geographical position of Syria and its determination to confront foreign forces.
