The Iranian national volleyball team has booked the ticket to the 2014 World Championship after it achieved its third consecutive win in the Asian men's qualifier against Bahrain.
On Friday, Iranians ended their Pool B campaign with a straight sets victory over the Bahraini outfit and overpowered their opponents 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-14) at the Azadi Sports Complex in western Tehran.
Iranian volleyball players exhibited spectacular performance and dominated on the court during the match.
Iran swept Indonesia 3-0 (25-12, 25-20, 25-11) on Thursday. The host team started with strong spikes and defense leading the scores 4-0.
Although Indonesias players did not have the proper coordination and team unity, they still managed to earn points capitalizing on the Iranian players mistakes. Iran continued to lead with their spikes, double and triple blocks to take the score to 20-10. Iran finished the set at 25-12.
The Indonesian team could establish itself in the second set, and got the chance to close the gap at 12-16. But the Iranian team regained control of match and took the set 25-20.
Iran started the third set with full concentration and never gave their opponent any chance. The Iranian team ended the set at 25-11.
In its opening match at the tournament on Wednesday, Iran defeated Pakistan in straight sets (25-15, 25-19, 25-13).
Australia from Pool A, Iran from Pool B and South Korea from Pool D have already won a place at the 2014 World Championship following Asian mens qualification matches.
In Pool C, China (host), India, Chinese Taipei and Saudi Arabia will play from September 20 to 22 for their ticket to the championship.
The 2014 World Championship will be held in Poland from September 3 to 21.
