Turkmen Foreign Minister Rasit Meredow has sent a congratulatory message to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif, felicitating him on his endorsement for the top diplomatic post.
In his message, Meredow described the relations between Turkmenistan and Iran as deep-rooted in history, and based on friendship and fraternity.
He further noted that Ashgabat-Tehran ties currently stand at a satisfactory level in all areas.
The Turkmen foreign minister expressed hope that the ties between the two brotherly and friendly countries will further flourish in the future.
Meredow also wished Zarif good health and success.
Zarif officially started his work as Irans new foreign minister on August 17, replacing Ali Akbar Salehi.
