Iran produces over 119,000 tons of aluminum ingots in four months
The Islamic Republic of Iran has produced more than 119,000 tons of aluminum ingots in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, 2013.
The volume of aluminum ingot production at the countrys three smelters -- Iranian Aluminum Company (IRALCO), the Al-Mahdi Aluminum Corporation (AAC), and Hormozal -- hit 119,560 tons during the four-month period.

The figure shows a six-percent growth compared to the corresponding period of the last Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20), IRNA reported on Friday.

The report added that IRALCO produced 59,914 tons of aluminum ingots in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, while the volume of aluminum ingot production in AAC and Hormozal stood at 35,889 and 23,757 tons respectively.

During the mentioned period, Iran produced 82,967 tons of aluminum powder, an increase of 13 percent from the last Iranian calendar year.

The volume of aluminum ingot production in the country over the Iranian month of Tir (June 22-July 22) hit 30,127 tons, registering a 10-percent growth in comparison with the corresponding period last year.

In May 2012, the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade announced that Irans aluminum output would hit 1.5 million tons by the end of the countrys 20-Year Vision Plan, which runs until March 2025.

Iran plans to become the worlds 14th leading aluminum producer by the end of the 5th Economic Development Plan, which began in 2010 and ends in 2015.
