In a message to Rohani, the German chancellor expressed hope to see the opportunity arise during his tenure to deepen the existing cordial ties between the two nations.

Merkels message was submitted to Irans Deputy Foreign Minister for Western European Affairs Abolqasem Delfi by German Ambassador to Tehran Michael Freiherr von Ungern-Sternberg on Wednesday.

In her message, Merkel stated that Rohanis election raises the hope for a new phase in constructive cooperation to help promote regional and international peace and security.
