A view of Iran's South Pars Gas and Oil Field[/caption]TEHRAN (ISNA)- Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Ahmad Qalebani said the country's gas output would be raised by 25 million cubic meters by the next three months.
"The first row of the 12th phase of South Pars Gas Field with the capacity of 12.5 million cubic meters of gas will join the national grid," Qalebani said.
The row will be inaugurated late August or early September, he added.
According to the Iranian official, the second row of the phase with the similar capacity would be connected to the national grid.
Iran's Oil Minister Rostam Qassemi has already said the dossier of the development of the world's largest gas field, where Iranian companies are involved in the simultaneous development of 17 phases, will be filed in 2015 by launching all the South Pars gas field phases under development at present.
Addressing a ceremony held to mark the launch of the gas treatment facilities of South Pars phase 15 and 16 in Assalouyeh, Qassemi said in 2015 Irans gas withdrawal from the field would be equal with that of Qatar which shares the field with Iran.
According to the oil ministry's website, Qassemi said phases 17 and 18 have made progress by 80 percent and would come online by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (which ends in March 2014) while phase 12 would start yielding 50 million cubic meters per day in winter.
He said despite the tough sanctions imposed on the oil industry in past two years, South Pars projects have made progress 2 to 2.5 percent on average each month, adding that the new phases of South Pars are expected to be accomplished in a 50-month period at the latest while foreign companies could complete the operational phases in 60 to 86 months
