The Iran Project : Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi voiced Tehran’s readiness to hold constructive negotiations to settle differences with the West, emphasizing that the talks must be based upon mutual respect, not pressures and threats.
According to The Iran Project, in an interview with IRIB on Saturday, Araqchi denounced the new Western sanctions under the pretext that Tehran has supplied arms to Russia.
Reminding the Western governments about the futility of sanctions, the foreign minister stated that they cannot impose their will on Iran by resorting to sanctions.
Iran has always favored dialogue and has never bowed out of constructive negotiations for developing a mutual understanding to resolve the differences, Araqchi said, noting that Iran is still ready for talks on the basis of mutual respect, not threats and pressures.
He slammed the sanctions as a failed tool for confrontation and exerting pressure, not for cooperation.
It is really surprising that the Western governments still resort to the failed experience of sanctions, the foreign minister added, advising them to reverse their course.
