According to The Iran Project, “Fortunately, we are witnessing an unprecedented reception from the participants,” Honaronline quoted Habib-Reza Arzani as saying on Monday.

“This year, with special assistance from the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and following cultural negotiations by the cultural attaché office of Iran in Malaysia, we have participated in two sections of the exhibition,” he added.

According to Arzani, Iran is present in the book sales and distribution section as well as the ASEAN Rights Fair (ARF) where publishers across the region trade rights with each other and others from all over the world.

“In this year’s exhibition, diverse books from 17 countries have been presented, covering various topics and languages,” he stated.

Arzani emphasized that the extensive participation of domestic and international publishers alongside each other, as well as interactions with authors and industry figures, can significantly contribute to promoting book reading.

Ministry of Education Malaysia via the National Book Council of Malaysia (NBCM) has organized the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair in collaboration with six Malaysian book industry associations. KLIBF is an annual major event in the global publishing calendar.

Besides, various activities are being carried out by publishers across the region, which accelerate the celebration and excitement of KLIBF.

The launch of books, seminars, conventions, and so forth are among the activities conducted to cater to the needs of the book-lovers community from all walks of life.

Having launched on May 24, the book fair will run until June 2 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, with the participation of 17 countries, including Iran, China, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Singapore, and Brunei among others.
