The Iran Project : The first groups of Umrah pilgrims left Iran for Saudi Arabia after 9 years on Monday morning.
According to The Iran Project,Within 10 days, a total of 2,860 pilgrims from 11 airports across Iran and 2,860 pilgrims from Imam Khomeini Airport will be transferred to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah.
The Umrah is an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, the holiest city for Muslims, located in the Hejazi region of Saudi Arabia. It can be undertaken at any time of the year, in contrast to the Hajj, which has specific dates according to the Islamic lunar calendar.
