According to The Iran Project,During a telephone conversation on Saturday, Amirabdollahian and Pandor discussed the latest developments in bilateral relations and the situation in the West Asian region, especially after the legitimate response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the recent Israeli military attack on Iran’s embassy in Damascus.

The top Iranian diplomat said that Iran targeted two military and intelligence bases of the Israeli regime in response to the attack on Iran's embassy in Damascus under the principle of self-defense after the United Nations Security Council did not respond appropriately in condemning the Israeli attack on the embassy and some permanent members of the Security Council, including the US, UK, and France, did not condemn Israel's crimes in the UN Security Council.

The Islamic Republic of Iran announced to the international community, including the US, after conducting an anti-Israel operation that the country does not seek to expand the war, but if the Israeli regime again takes action against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tehran will respond strongly and decisively.

Amirabdollahian also hailed the South African government's historical initiative in filing a genocide lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice.

Pandor, for her part, thanked Amirabdollahian for his remarks and called for establishing an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
