According to The Iran Project,“Being Ten” directed by Fatemeh Jafari, “Dezkak” by Azad Maroufi and “Our Uniform” by Yeganeh Moghaddam are on screen at the festival, ILNA reported on Tuesday.

A production by the Institute for Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA), “Being Ten” is about a father and his ten-year-old son who live in a lonely cottage in the middle of a dense wood. The father, a hunter, spares one of his prizes and brings it home as a present for his son. What, at first, was just a plaything forever will change the young boy's life.

"Dezkak" narrates the tale of a creature residing in a timeless location far from civilization, sustaining itself by consuming the souls and bodies of children. A young girl is chosen to empower the creature, but upon discovering her fate, she makes the decision to flee.

In “Our Uniform,” an Iranian girl recalls school-age memories through the wrinkles and fabrics of her old uniform, quite literally. Rather than using paper, canvas, or a digital medium, Moghaddam painted directly on the cloth used for making school uniforms to tell the story of a character who dreams of a better future.

MONSTRA, Lisbon Animation Festival, is a unique event that serves as a platform for animated films to intersect with various media and arts. The festival seeks to foster experimentation and spark discussions on innovative ideas, blending different artistic styles and forms, with animated film standing out as the supreme form of narrative and aesthetic expression. The primary objective of the festival is to showcase and endorse outstanding animated films created worldwide.

The event will come to an end on March 17.
