Iran's Petrochemical company underlines support for domestic manufacturing

Iran
TEHRAN (FNA)- Senior officials at Iran's National Petrochemical Company said mounting support for domestic manufacturing and self-sufficiency in the production of those parts needed by the petrochemical sector is a national strategy.

NPC Production Director Ali Mohammad Bossaghzadeh said the company's Self-Sufficiency Committee is engaged actively in boosting domestic manufacturing, adding that "fortunately using home-made parts and equipment is on the rise".

"With regard to the valuable experiences of domestic manufacturers and Self-Sufficiency Committee efforts in providing parts and equipment for the petrochemical sector, it is hoped that experience will be transferred to other industries in order to thwart the effects of the sanctions completely," he added.

"Considering natural and geographic privileges of Irans petrochemical industry, specially access to huge oil and gas resources as well as domestic experts, the petrochemical industry can be a pioneer in realizing the Economy of Resistance," the NPC official noted.

He said by empowering the private sector, the petrochemical industry can achieve its targets, adding that the Oil Ministry and NPC are backing transfer of knowhow, indigenizing technology and boosting domestic manufacturing.

Bossaqzadeh stated that the share of domestic manufacturers in providing petrochemical parts and equipment has soared to about 70 percent indicating satisfactory quality of Iranian made items.

According to the NPC official, petrochemical plants are required not only to meet domestic needs but also improve the quality of their products with the aim of active presence in international markets.
