The Iran Project : The Saudi ambassador in Tehran, in a meeting with Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts stated that there is no obstacle to the development of tourism ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
According to The Iran Project,During a meeting with Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, Ezzatollah Zarghami, in Tehran on Saturday, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Tehran, Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anzi said he sees no obstacle to boosting tourism relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi diplomat added: “Iran and Saudi Arabia are two neighboring and brotherly countries with abundant potential. These capacities can serve as an opportunity for boosting tourism between the two nations."
“We traveled to Qom and visited the pilgrimage and historical places of the city and there were no problems,” he said, adding that Saudi Arabia is optimistic about tourism cooperation with the Islamic Republic.
Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, Ezzatollah Zarghami, on his part, said tourism can play an important role in fostering stronger ties between the two sides.
“Tourism ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia bear significant responsibilities in the new era of bilateral relations,” he said.
The minister expressed hope that the new Saudi ambassador to Iran can help strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism.
Iran and Saudi Arabia restored their diplomatic relations under a China-brokered deal after seven years.
