"In Praise of Comrades" symphony unveiled, paying homage to Hajj Qassem

The Iran Project : On the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the unveiling ceremony of the symphony "In Praise of Comrades" was held on at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall on Tuesday.

According to The Iran Project,The event was attended by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili, Director of the Cinema Organization of Iran Mohammad Khazaei, martyr Soleimani’s family and several cultural and artistic officials, Mehr reported on Wednesday.

The symphony was produced in commemoration of the fourth martyrdom anniversary of the martyr General Qassem Soleimani, with the support of the General Qassem Soleimani Foundation (the Soleimani School), the Iranian Music Society, the Rudaki Cultural and Artistic Foundation, and the Music Office of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

Milad Aghaei and Amirhossein Samiei were the composers, Nasir Heidarian was the orchestra conductor, Mohammad Mehdi Sayyar was the poet, and Seyyed Mohsen Hosseini and Amirhossein Samiei were among the vocalists who comprised the executive group of this symphony.

"Persian Rhapsody," composed by Milad Aghaei, and "In Praise of Comrades," with poetry by Mohammad Hadi Sayyar and composed by Milad Aghaei, were among the pieces performed at this concert, divided into three sections: "Sacred Defense," "Defense of the Shrine," and "Martyrdom."

At the end of the concert Esmaeili expressed his appreciation to those involved in this performance while addressing journalists, saying, "I would like to congratulate the arrival of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (SA) on behalf of myself and my colleagues at the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. We hope, with the blessings of this holy lady's name, that we can witness further musical creations in the near future in honor of the martyrdom anniversary of Hajj Qassem Soleimani."

"The concert you witnessed tonight was produced in a very short period by an executive group who presented it to the audience in the best possible way," he added. 

In another part of his speech, the minister stated, "The policymaking of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in presenting and producing musical works related to Martyr Soleimani, the Gaza issue, and the martyrs of the Revolution has entered a new phase, and we will soon provide more information about them."

Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, a highly esteemed Iranian military strategist and prominent figure in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), left an indelible mark on Iran's defense efforts. Born in 1957 in Qanat-e Malek, Iran, Soleimani devoted his entire life to safeguarding his country's interests. He gained widespread recognition for his crucial role in leading successful military campaigns, particularly in the battle against ISIS in Iraq and Syria. His exceptional strategic planning, exemplary leadership abilities, and unwavering commitment to preserving Iran's security earned him profound respect both within the military and among the Iranian populace.

General Soleimani, with his remarkable charm and fearless demeanor, commanded immense admiration from his comrades as well as the general public. His resolute dedication to safeguarding Iran's sovereignty and ensuring its security solidified his position as an emblem of fortitude and perseverance.

Despite facing numerous hurdles, such as international sanctions and political tensions, Soleimani remained an indispensable figure in Iran's military and foreign policies. His assassination in January 2020 had a seismic impact on the region, profoundly grieving the Iranian people and intensifying tensions between Iran and the United States. General Qassem Soleimani's impactful contributions to Iran's defense will forever be etched in the nation's memory, serving as a testament to his enduring influence on the geopolitical landscape of the region.
