According to The Iran Project, Abbas Aliabadi made the remarks while speaking to Tasnim on Tuesday.

Elaborating on imported automobiles, he stated that car imports from Suzuki, Toyota, Kia, Honda, and Chinese companies are underway.

After a few years, importing cars was resumed, with a lot of follow-ups, aims to solve quantitative and qualitative issues, he said.

93,343 cars have been registered and ordered. The number of imported cars is 9,176, the number of cars being transported is 10,176, the number of cars offered to registered people is 8,220, and the number of registered cars is about 4,000, the industry minister added.

Earlier, the head of the Trade Development Organization had said 8000 automobiles have entered the country so far that would be sold through the car sales system.

Currently, about 22,000 people are enrolled in the imported car sales system as applicants for buying these cars. Also, about 7500 applicants have chosen their imported car through the system, he stated.
 
So far, more than 8400 cars of different brands have been offered in the mentioned system, the official noted.
