A senior Iranian military official says the European Union’s move to blacklist Lebanon’s Hezbollah as a terrorist organization is indicative of the West’s frustration over its failures in Syria.
“The failure of the state terrorism sponsored by the US, Europe and the reactionary [governments] of the region in Syria and the victories of the Islamic resistance have enraged the enemies of the resistance to the extent that they label the heroic Hezbollah combatants… as terrorists,” said Iran’s Armed Forces Deputy Chief of Staff Brigadier General Seyyed Massoud Jazayeri on Tuesday.

On Monday, EU foreign ministers added Hezbollah's military wing to their list of "terrorist organizations.”
“If the EU imagines that it can gain concessions in other areas by putting pressure on Hezbollah, it is making a serious mistake and it merely demolishes bridges behind it by [taking] these measures,” Jazayeri pointed out.
He noted that the EU is following in the footsteps of Washington and the Israeli lobby, saying, “It is regrettable [to see] Europe following the US and Zionists and it is surprising [to see] that the European elite remain silent vis-ŕ-vis the inhumane actions of the European governments.”

Hezbollah members have been fighting alongside the Syrian troops against foreign-backed militants in Syria, defeating the extremist terrorist groups in different areas, including in the strategic town of Qusayr which was recaptured by the Syrian Army in June.

Syria says the deadly unrest in country, which has continued since March 2011, is being orchestrated from outside, and that the militants are supported by the West and its regional allies including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey.\
