The Iran Project : The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development says during the last 2 years, the ministry started the renovation of 40,000 units in the urban decay of Tehran.
According to The Iran Project, Mohammad Ayini made the comments at the "Economy Desk" TV program with the theme of regeneration and renovation of urban decay.
Stressing that in every city where incentive packages have been implemented, he stated that the renovation of urban decay has been facilitated and accelerated.
According to the indicators approved by the Supreme Council of Urban Planning and Architecture of Iran, more than 167,000 hectares and equivalent to 20% of the city surface are in urban decay and historical neighborhoods, facing problems and disorder, he said.
Therefore, we put the issue of renovating of urban decay on the top agenda of our ministry, he added.
He further stressed the all-out participation of the people and encouraging them to engage in the renovation programs.
The strategy used in Iran's urban regeneration company is in accordance with the policies of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development to create incentive packages for this plan, the deputy minister underlined.
Applicants for renovation of units in urban decay, the same as the National Housing Movement, can ask for renovation facilities, he added.
