The Iran Project - Iran's Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, has urged for a special meeting to be held between the foreign ministers of member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address the current situation in Palestine.

In a phone conversation with OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha, Amirabdollahian emphasized the need for Islamic countries to support the oppressed people of Palestine.

He also expressed Iran's willingness to host the OIC meeting and called for urgent action from all Islamic nations.

Taha, in response, condemned the attacks by the Israeli regime on Palestinians and stressed the importance of Islamic countries working together to respond to Israeli aggression.

The Israeli regime launched strikes on Gaza after Hamas initiated Operation Al-Aqsa Storm in response to violations at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and settler violence in occupied East al-Quds.

The leader of Palestinian Hamas�s military wing says the group has launched a new operation against Israel.

In a rare public statement, Mohammed Deif asserted that 5,000 rockets had been fired into Israel early Saturday to begin �Operation Al-Aqsa Storm�. Israel also reported an infiltration from Gaza.

�We�ve decided to say enough is enough,� Deif added as he urged all Palestinians to confront Israel.
