The Iran Project - Iran's Foreign Ministry summoned the Swiss charg� d'affaires to protest against the "baseless" allegations made by the United States and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council.

The ministry expressed strong condemnation of the joint statement issued by the US and PGCC, stating that Iran will defend its territorial integrity and protect its security and interests against any threats from the US.

Iran reiterated its determination to safeguard regional security and stability and prevent the US from plundering regional assets.

The Swiss envoy assured that he would convey Iran's message to American officials.

The US-PGCC statement called on Iran to fully cooperate with the IAEA and accused Iran of proliferating dangerous weapons.

Iranian officials have emphasized that their military capabilities are solely for defensive purposes.

The statement also reiterated support for the UAE's call for a peaceful solution to the dispute over the three Persian Gulf islands, which Iran maintains historical, legal, and geographical evidence of its sovereignty over.
