The Iran Project - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Ali Bagheri Kani, stated that Tehran welcomes any initiatives proposed by the European side over developing interaction and cooperation.
Kani made the comments during a meeting with the EU Special Representative Luigi Di Maio and his accompanying delegation.
He emphasized that Iran's regional and international capabilities present valuable opportunities for dialogue and cooperation.
Bagheri Kani highlighted Iran's determination and ability to engage in bilateral interaction, welcoming any initiatives from the European side to foster further cooperation.
Di Maio, for his part, acknowledged Iran's significant role in regional and global developments and affirmed that all EU member states support dialogue and interaction with Iran.
Di Maio, a former Italian foreign minister who was appointed as the EUs first envoy for the Persian Gulf region in May, also met with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian earlier in the day.
