Tehran to promote cooperation within Asia Cooperation Dialogue, help realize its goals
The Iran Project - Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has expressed Iran's commitment to strengthening cooperation among members of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) during its presidency of the forum.

In a meeting with ACD Secretary General Pornchai Danvivathana in Tehran, Amirabdollahian statedthat Iran will work towards promoting cooperation within the ACD and facilitating the realization of its goals.

He also emphasized Iran's readiness to support the ACD secretariat and the ACD Cultural and Tourism Coordination Center based in Tehran.

Danvivathana informed Amir-Abdollahian about the upcoming ACD foreign ministerial meeting in September, which will take place alongside the UN General Assembly's annual meeting.

Iran will assume the presidency of the ACD following this meeting. The ACD, established in 2002, aims to unite all Asian countries and build an Asian Community without duplicating existing organizations or creating a bloc against others.

In a separate development, Iran and Uzbekistan signed a document to implement agreements previously reached between their presidents during a virtual meeting between the foreign ministers of both countries.

The ministers discussed various aspects of bilateral cooperation in political and economic sectors and exchanged views on the upcoming Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit scheduled to be held in Uzbekistan in November.

Saidov invited Amirabdollahian to visit Uzbekistan. In June, during a meeting between Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tehran, officials from both countries signed 10 cooperation documents in various fields such as trade, transportation, pharmacology, technology, agriculture, and more.
