Iran-Malaysia economic commission to be held soon: FM
The Iran Project - On Monday, the Iranian foreign minister announced that after six years the joint economic commission between Iran and Malaysia will be held in Tehran soon.

Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Malaysian counterpart, Zambry Abdul Kadir, held a joint press conference in Tehran following their meeting.

During the conference, Amirabdollahian emphasized the significance of Malaysia's position in the Islamic world and expressed the importance of strengthening ties with the country.

The two ministers agreed that the joint economic commission would take place in Tehran, with the Iranian Minister of Communications or ICT serving as the chair.

Amirabdollahian also mentioned that President Raeisi had invited the Malaysian Prime Minister to visit Tehran, with a reciprocal invitation for him to visit Malaysia.

Additionally, they discussed preparing documents for potential signing during the meeting of the heads of state and organizing friendly sports competitions between the two nations.

The ministers also addressed regional issues, such as the war in Ukraine, developments in Afghanistan, Syria, and Palestine.

They strongly condemned the desecration of holy books, particularly the Holy Qur'an, and warned Sweden and Denmark about the Islamic world's intolerance towards such actions.

For his part, Zambry Abdul Kadir expressed his positive outlook on strengthening relations with Iran and highlighted Malaysia's commitment to strengthening ties with all Muslim countries.

He discussed potential cooperation in agriculture, tourism, education, and regional and international matters, including Palestine and Islamophobia. Furthermore, he extended an invitation to Amir-Abdollahian to visit Malaysia at the earliest opportunity to continue fostering bilateral relations.
