The Iran Project - On the anniversary of the Taliban's seizure of power in Afghanistan, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian reiterated Iran's call for the formation of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.

He made the remarks in Tehran on Tuesday while meeting with Tariq Ali Bakheet, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)'s special envoy on Afghanistan

He emphasized that Iran closely monitors the developments in Afghanistan due to its shared border and believes that an inclusive government that includes all ethnic and religious groups is necessary for the country's stability.

Elswhere in his remarks, Amirabdollahian also called for increased efforts to address the humanitarian and livelihood issues faced by the Afghan people and urged international aid for Afghan refugees in Iran.

For his part, the special envoy of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Afghanistan acknowledged Iran's important and constructive role in Afghanistan and presented a report on his efforts in the country.
