Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi arrived in Tehran on Monday to hold talks with senior Iranian officials about the latest mutual, regional and international developments.
The Omani diplomat was welcomed by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian upon his arrival.
At a Monday press conference with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian has said mutual interactions among regional countries are the key to "sustainable progress, security, and stability in our region".
Continuous and interconnected relations with neighboring countries can serve as the key to sustainable progress, security, and stability in our region, Amirabdollahian noted.
Amirabdollahian also hailed the increasing interactions between senior Iranian and Omani officials in recent months and urged the prompt implementation of joint agreements.
Over the past year, we have witnessed two significant meetings between the leaders of our two countries in Oman and Iran. Today's extensive discussions focused on pursuing the full implementation of past agreements made during these high-level meetings, he added.
Speaking at his weekly press conference earlier in the day, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kan'ani described Oman as a friendly countryand a partner of Iran in regional issues.
He added that Oman has always played a constructive role in international issues of common concern.
The Iranian spokesperson emphasized that Albusaidi's trip to Tehran would definitely provide the two countries with an opportunity to continue bilateral constructive negotiations.
