Mehdi Taremi has scored, as Team Iran edged out South American powerhouse, Uruguay, 1-nil in a friendly.

Uruguay's only opportunities were through shots outside the area, as they were well controlled by a resilient Iranian Defense.

This is while, Team Iran were great on the counter, especially from the Left, and it finally payed-off in the 79th minute, as Porto striker Mehdi Taremi started a great team-effort from the center, to the Left, and then finished it off himself.

It was a morale boosting win for New Manager Carlos Queiroz and the Iranian Cheetahs, in their march towards the World Cup.

Team Iran is set to play another important friendly against Senegal on September 27th.
