FM: Iran undoubtedly after good, lasting JCPOA revival deal
Irans Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic is undoubtedly determined to reach a good, strong and lasting agreement over the revival of the 2015 nuclear deal known as the JCPOA.

The top Iranian diplomat made the remark in a phone conversation with EU Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell.

The two sides discussed the latest situation of talks aimed at reviving the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and removing the anti-Iran sanctions that the United States imposed following its 2018 withdrawal from the accord.

Amirabdollahian said that if the US acts realistically, a good agreement will be within the reach of all parties, adding that Washington should also show in practice that it wants an agreement.

He said that the Islamic Republic has always shown its good will and serious determination to reach an agreement ever since the JCPOA revival talks began in April 2021.

Irans foreign minister also said that his country welcomes the continuation of the path of dialog and diplomacy.

Borrell, on his part, said that Iran has so far shown its serious determination in the negotiations and it is now time for the talks to reach a desirable result.

He reiterated that he and his deputy are ready to facilitate the negotiations through consultations with all sides.
